Pastoral Staff
Senior Minister
 Dr. Neil W. Reid was introduced to the Stone Mountain Church family as its first senior minister of afro descent on Saturday, August 5, 2006. He received his call to pastoral ministry during final preparations for a career in aviation in the summer of 1984. His first pastoral assignment took him to the Community Church in Utica, New York. Since then, Pastor Reid has ministered at the Ephesus Church in Harlem, New York; Breath of Life Church in Rochester, New York; Alpha Church in Austin, Texas; and the Northern Caribbean University Church in Mandeville, Jamaica.
Pastor Reid holds the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Theology and Biblical Languages from Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama; the Master of Divinity (M. Div.) in Theology from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan; the Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) in Urban Youth Ministries from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Also, Dr. Reid completed Level I and Level II Clinical Pastoral Education training from the Episcopal Theology Seminary of the Southwest in Austin Texas. He is a certified member of the Association of Professional Chaplains.
As a minister with more than 17 years of pastoral experience, Pastor Reid has visited and ministered in several countries around the world. He has published articles on various themes of interest in magazines, developed Bible study guides for new members, written manuals on the fundamentals of youth ministries, and researched the 85 year history of the Northern Caribbean University Church.
Dr. Reid is an innovative, accomplished, and visionary servant-leader. He has served as hospital and university chaplain, counselor, youth ministries coordinator, evangelist, and adjunct professor of religion. Pastor Reid has received numerous letters of commendations, certificates, and plaques from individuals, religious and civic organizations for his ministerial accomplishments. Additionally, under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit, he has participated in the leading of hundreds of individuals to Jesus Christ.
Pastor Reid shares ministry with his wife, Laurell and son, Nakeil.
